From
October 23-31, the drug prevention community will celebrate
National Red Ribbon Week. National Red Ribbon Week was sparked
by the murder of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special
Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who was abducted,
tortured and brutally murdered by drug traffickers in Guadalajara,
Mexico in 1985. Communities across the country and the nation
rallied behind a campaign which served as a reminder of the
harm caused by drugs and expressed the need for anti-drug
programs.
